Geological Adventures...

Float and fish the Llano River through Cambrian and Precambrian formations exposed by the Llano Uplift in Texas’ Central Mineral Region.

You’ll see intrusions, faults and several fine examples of rocks over a billion years old while catching your fill of bass, sunfish, catfish and gar (see FISHING ADVENTURES).  The trip covers 11-23 miles of river and can be floated/fished in 2-4 days.  You have the option of primitive camping on the river under the stars or staying in one of the  accommodations in the area.

Geological Adventures include two days of geology and fishing, the guide, kayaks, paddles, PFD (personal flotation devices), shuttle, drinks, lures, meals on the river and a geologic/fishing adventure you won’t soon forget.

Packsaddle Formation {Precambrian}

Hickory Sandstone Cliffs {Cambrian}

Wilberns Cliffs - Bioherm {Cambrian}

The trip does demand some physical ability.  If you choose not to camp, we can help arrange transportation, accommodations and meals.
