Fishing
a crystal clear Hill Country river from a kayak is simple, fun and oh yes
. . . very exciting! Half of the excitement is seeing what’s bending your rod
and pulling you and your boat across the water. Whether it’s a
strong river bass, a fat sunny, or a channel cat (these channel cats often
hit top water lures), it’ll get your adrenaline pumping and put a smile
on your face. This fishing is not for those who want to fill a heavy
stringer or catch that 10 pounder, but for those who enjoy beautiful
water, gorgeous scenery, abundant wildlife, isolation and a great
adventure. Oh yeah, you‘ll catch a few fish as well (163
fish in a 12 hour day is our current record for one angler). The
norm is around 30 to 40 fish a day. Don’t be misled; there are BIG
fish in these beautiful settings. Some trophy smallmouth and
enormous sunfish make themselves available. Not to mention the
largemouths, up to seven pounds, that are known to patrol the holes along
the rivers. The spring-fed rivers we fish contain an
incredible variety of fish. You’ll
have the opportunity to catch several species including: Guadalupe bass (Texas’ state fish), largemouth bass,
spotted bass, smallmouth bass and a hybrid bass (smallie and
Guadalupe mix), six species of sunfish, Texas Blue Cichlid (a
tropical fish), spotted gar, and channel catfish.

We live here so when there’s a warm day we’ll hit the river and
fish year round, but our favorite season is late March through November.
We offer several different trips to appease the fisher and
adventurer in you. Our
typical fishing day lasts from 8 - 12 hours (depending on when you get
tired of catching fish or it gets dark) and covers 5 to 10 miles.
We fish with light spinning tackle and flyrods from our kayaks.
Bring
both if you wish. We provide
the guide, kayaks, paddles, PFD (personal flotation devices), shuttle,
drinks, lures, lunch and a fishing adventure you won’t soon forget.
